LGBT history month event on Thursday 25 February 2010 at Shoreham Library.
Coming out in the 1960s and 1970s - a personal account of gay life in Sussex by Mark Rowlands of Brighton Ourstory. The talk will be accompanied by an exhibition from the archives of Brighton Ourstory. This is the closing talk in a series from West Sussex County Council for LGBT history month.

Review: Coming Out in the 60s and 70s
Shoreham library was the venue for a talk by Ourstory volunteer Mark Rowlands. Some 40 people braved torrential rain to hear him intersperse the social and political developments affecting gay men and lesbians during the 1960s and 70s with his own personal coming out story.
With cuttings and photographs, he reminisced about Brighton at the time. He hoped that future talks would also be able to draw on the wealth of material in the Ourstory archives.
